EVENTS
The au pair program is essentially a cultural exchange program and as Au Pair International we think it is important that au pairs learn and see the necessary things from our country. In addition, it is of course very nice for au pairs to get to know other au pairs as soon as possible after arriving in the Netherlands. Lots of contact with other au pairs can be an ideal recipe against homesickness!
Of all the agencies in the Netherlands, Au Pair International has the largest selection of fun and sociable au pair events. Your au pair can participate in our events without restriction; The more, the merrier as far as we are concerned! With often more than 100 participants at each event, this is a perfect opportunity to make new friends in no time. Training
For au pairs who have recently arrived in the Netherlands, we organize a ‘Welcome Training’ four times a year. During this day we cover topics such as effective communication with the host family, giving and receiving feedback, taking care of children including fun activities they can organize with children in an interactive way. We also discuss daily life and culture in the Netherlands. In addition, the au pairs receive a presentation from a nurse about first aid for babies and children. In short, the ‘Welcome Training’ gives your au pair a flying start for the au pair year.
At an additional cost, we also offer the possibility to enroll your au pair to follow an extensive First Aid Course held by Red Cross. It is reassuring to know that your au pair is well aware of how to react during the most ten common accidents among children.
LANGUAGE COURSES
Our introductory course ‘Dutch for au pairs’ is specially tailored for participants in the au pair program in the Netherlands. In this compact course with two on-site lessons and eight online lessons, the au pair is taken into a unique story: the journey of an au pair. We also have an Englisch language course available.
