Meet the team

  • Mrs. Daniëlle Plantinga, MA

Office coordinator and Founder of Au Pair International

As the owner-director of Au Pair International I am responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of the office. Before I started my own company I used to work for the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security in various international positions. I am married to Frans and together we have a son (Casper). In my family we were lucky to host seven au pairs from very different parts of the world (a.o. South Africa, Thailand, Ukraine) and with very diverse backgrounds. It has brought us unique intercultural friendships. In my free time I go to the gym (because I have to) and I take salsa classes (because I actually enjoy it). Further on I enjoy spending time with friends and family, I like travelling to far destinations and on weekends I encourage my husband and son at the golf course.

  • Mrs. Annemieke Wouda, BA

As office manager I am involved in the daily activities of Au Pair International. I am mostly contribute to the administrative process of the registration of host families and au pairs, submitting the applications for au pair visa and residence permits and everything else what needs to be organized. Before joining Au Pair International in 2014, I worked in various service-oriented functions within the tourism industry and service providers at, among others ANWB and Hogeschool Rotterdam, university of applied sciences. Furthermore, during my studies I spent two internships abroad and lived in London and Stockholm for six months. These were experiences of a life time! Meanwhile I am married to Brent and we have two small children; Madelief (June 2015) and Benjamin (June 2017). I spent most of my free time with my family, friends and family.

  • Mrs. Jet van Bennekom, MA

    Freelance Account Manager

After graduating as a pedagogue, I worked for 17 years as a teacher in vocational training for pedagogical staff. From 1997 I worked all over the country as interim manager, especially for organizations in childcare. As an account manager at Au Pair International I am a liaison between our au pairs and their host families. I also contribute with pleasure to the “Welcome Meetings” and the excursions we organize for our au pairs.
During three afternoons a week I also work as a pedagogical staff member in the after-school care in Utrecht where I live. My husband and I have accommodated international students for about 20 years, especially students from Russia and Ukraine, but also from Lithuania, Poland, the USA and Italy. Multiculti at the kitchen table, we love to learn and enjoy the international contacts! In my spare time I work as a member of humanitarian boards, for example of a foundation that supports orphan children and young adults in Ukraine. I follow classical ballet class now for over 50(!) years and my reading club exists almost endlessly. Every year I try to make a colorful jungle out of our little city garden.

  • Mrs. Maartje Mulder, BA

    Inbound programme employee

I am mainly working on the administrative side of the agency (such as visa applications and registrations), but I also do the pre-departure skypes with the new au pairs. For our Full Service I am trying to match the best candidates with our host families. Last but not least I am organizing all of the au pair excursions. That is right up my alley, since I studied Tourism and worked at a Dutch touroperator offering holidays in the Netherlands. In my free time I love to travel with my husband, especially to far destinations to explore new cultures and different nature. But I also like to explore our own beautiful country!

  • Mrs. Nienke Grootendorst-Magnin, MA

    Account Manager

From Amsterdam to Congo and from Congo to the UK. After having lived abroad as an expat for over six years, I started working as an account manager ‘host families and au pairs’ for Au Pair International. Guided by my so special and unforgettable experiences abroad, especially with the incredible African care of my three young children, and using my background as a Master in Law and very diverse work experience in criminal Law in both Amsterdam and at the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, I hope to make a valuable contribution to the adventure you are about to start. Believe me; an adventure it is going to be. A year you’ll never forget.
